I'm planning to buy a DECT phone (Siemens Gigaset 500 Twin Black Phone with answering machine) in the United Kingdom. If the phone will work in India? Should I change some settings in your phone to work differently?

One of my friends was with a DECT phone in Germany and was informed they do not work the phone in India.
